May 6, 2022 The City of Madison Heights officially opened its new disc golf course at Rosie’s Park.

This project although it may seem simple, was a four-month project of design, evaluation, and constant communication with the park district. Designing in a multi-use park is never easy, sometimes you need to shorten holes, modify the direction of the flight path, and make sure that the typical spray and overthrows don’t land in sensitive areas and backyards.

This course is designed for recreational level play by Essential Discs and installed with baskets from MVP Disc Sports. Concrete tees are still to come this summer.

This is a project that was not scheduled to be part of the park for another few years, but the timetable was able to be moved forward with a special grant issued through MSHDA.

For the Grand Opening, more than 30 disc golfers came out to brave for cool weather and rain to take part in this event and show their support.
