Young Guns Team

The Young Guns is our Juniors team. Players under the age of 18 who have in some way inspired us. This could be because they are up-and-coming players or because they are movers in their community helping with course care and maintenance. In any case, we want to recognize these young players for being amazing!

Adalia Leonardi – #272081

Young Guns Player (FJ8) – Lansing, MI

Adalia has been begging to play disc golf with her dad for years, but most regular courses were too long. But in 2022 the local church built a course with a layout for kids and she picked up the game with joy.

In 2023 she joined the local kids league and ended up improving 24% from the first half to the second half after learning to throw with purpose and not just for fun.  After begging for a PDGA membership for Christmas she got her number and will be out playing events this year.

Watch out for her, she brings an infectious joy and can keep her head even when she isn’t playing well. Her composure is the best you will find out of a kid her age.

Adalia also helps her brothers on their mini disc endeavor on Instagram and is the creative genius behind their creations. Check them out on Instagram @galaxyminidiscs.

Spencer is one of the most consistent young players we have seen in some time.

He is steadily growing in the game and we expect him to exceed his own expectations this season.

Turning 12 this year, Spencer will be at the top of his division by age and is hoping to capitalize on his physical growth and strength while honing his mental toughness.

He has been playing disc golf for three years. This past summer he joined the local Junior’s league and is looking to build on his skills this year.

When not playing disc golf Spencer enjoys playing football, baseball, and basketball.

Jayden Slattery – #269369

Young Guns Player (MJ18) – Frankfort, Kentucky

Jayden is another that is one of the youngest in his division with his birthday coming near the end of the year.  He has been playing for about 2 years with his dad and started to competing in junior tournaments during 2023.

The strongest part of his game is his approach shots generating a lot of spin on the disc with very little power.

Like many young disc golfers, Simon Lizotte is his favorite pro player.

When not playing disc golf Jayden can be found playing racing games or practicing the trumpet.

The 2024 season will be Xan’s first year competing outside of league play. He will be among the youngest in the U18 division and may even play some Novice events to get used to competition.  The strongest part of his game is his putting which can be dominant when he is on but dangerous to himself when he is off.

Xan is primarily left-hand sidearm dominant. His favorite touring pro is Reid Frescura.

When he isn’t playing disc golf he can often be found playing Minecraft with his brother and two sisters, Xan and his siblings run a small mini-making business and Instagram. you can find them on instagram @galaxyminidiscs.
